PACKAGING
This is the standard Pro palette packaging; a sturdy but lightweight cardboard with a matte finish. 聽Inside is a decent-sized mirror with the matte shadows on the top row and the shimmers on the second row.
The colour of this palette is probably my favourite out of all of the Pro palettes – I love the burgundy colour with the silver lettering.

FORMULAS & PERFORMANCE
Shadows
As per every Lorac Pro palette released, this palette contains 8 pearl/glitter and 8 matte shadows.聽 “Pearl” is just another word for shimmer, with some having subtle glitter in them and others not.
Lorac’s formula is known to be soft, powdery and very easy to blend and I find this palette is mostly consistent, with one exception.聽 The first three matte shades (Chantilly, Brulee and Pecan) are very, very soft and powdery,聽more than I’ve experienced with other Lorac palettes. I have to tap my brush very gently into the pans to avoid a cloud of fallout and I feel like I’ve made a huge dent in these shadows, despite not using them that much.聽 It is important to note that the pigmentation and blendability isn’t affected by how soft these are.
The rest of the mattes are a little harder packed into the pan and closer to the standard Lorac formula – very smooth, easy to blend and nicely pigmented.聽 Same goes for the shimmers – they’re creamy, smooth and highly pigmented and very easy to work with.
My favourite shades in this palette are Begonia, Soft Pearl and Candlelight – all shimmery shades.
Behind the Scenes Eye Primer
This primer has a thin, lightweight consistency and the slightest hint of an ivory tint with a touch of shimmer. 聽It states that it is oil-free yet I find it slightly oily once rubbed into my skin.聽 Unfortunately, this does not work at all on my super oily eyelids so I always end up decluttering this.
VERDICT
This is my new favourite Lorac palette and dare I say, favourite palette in my collection period – at least for the time being.聽 Mainly because I love the colour scheme; the mix of warm, cool and neutral shades is perfect for creating a variety of looks.聽 聽At first glance, it looks quite similar to the Unzipped palette (which I’m also a fan of!) but the Pro 4 is a more of a mix of berries and neutrals and the Unzipped is more rosy tones and neutrals.
In addition, even though I hate to beat a dead horse, I must reiterate how much I love Lorac’s eyeshadow formula.聽 Ultimately, it’s just so easy to work with and I’m always pleased with the end result after using them.聽 Even with there being a few issues with the fallout in this palette, I just find their quality to be very consistent.
I think if you’re a fan of Lorac palettes, you can’t go wrong with this one and totally recommend it!
What鈥檚 the best eyeshadow palette you鈥檝e tried lately?
The minute I go to the States again, I am marching right into an Ulta to the Lorac aisle. The last time I did, they were sold out of nearly every palette and it was heartbreaking for this beauty addict. LOL! This one is absolutely gorgeous!
