Today I’m wrapping up my 2018 Project Pan (I know, I’m a little late). My goal was to finish up 18 products in 2018 – how did I do? Keep reading to find out!
COMPLETED PRODUCTS
- Clinique City Block Sheer Oil Free Daily Face Protector
- Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer (Smoothing)
NOTES: About 1/4 of this tube of this foundation primer is left
GOAL: Finish product
REVIEW: Even though I’m not really into primers anymore, I did enjoy this one. It filled in my pores and smooths over my skin so my makeup applies seamlessly. I’d consider picking it up again but definitely in the travel size – this little tube took me forever to get through! - L’Oreal Infalliable Makeup Extending Setting Spray
- bareMinerals Concealer – Well-Rested
- bareMinerals Mineral Veil
- bareMinerals All Over Face Colour (Warmth)
NOTES: All 3 of these are carry-overs from last year; each of them has about 1/4 of the jar left
GOAL: Finish all 3 products
REVIEWS: The Well-Rested concealer provides amazing coverage (especially for a powder) but it’s a little too yellow-toned for my skin tone and I found it emphasized fine lines – wouldn’t repurchase. Warmth is similar to a bronzer but it’s a little too warm for me and I’m not really a fan of loose powder products so I won’t be repurchasing this either. - Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer (Medium/Deep)
Notes: My original goal was to hit pan on this and I did back in July so I decided to keep working at it until I finished up
GOAL: Finish completely
REVIEW: Unfortunately I couldn’t 100% finish this up because the product broke into little pieces; that said I was about 90% there when that happened so I’m considering it done! This is a great, cool-toned bronzer that smells like chocolate that I’d definitely repurchase! - Kiko Eye Base Primer
NOTES: It’s hard to tell how much is left but I’m guessing around 1/2 the tube
GOAL: Finish product
REVIEW: I finally finished this – I didn’t think I was going to, it kept going and going and going. This wasn’t a great eye base for me – it didn’t keep my shadows from creasing or fading which is why I use a primer in the first place. Wouldn’t recommend or repurchase. - Rosebud Perfume Co. Strawberry Lip Balm
- Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick (Melted Fig)
- elf Matte Lip Colour (Tea Rose)
- Victoria Secret Love Spell Body Spray
- Bath & Body Works Beautiful Day Body Spray
NOTES: A little less than 1/2 of the bottle remains
GOAL: Finish product
REVIEW: This body spray has a fresh, fruity scent but by the end of this bottle (that never wanted to end) I was so sick of it. In addition, the scent lasts for about 20 minutes after application. I don’t intend of repurchasing this or any body spray really – I’ve basically had the same issue with all of them. - Britney Spears Believe
NOTES: I’ve got about 1/4 of this bottle left
GOAL: Finish product
REVIEW: Done and done! I’m a fan of Britney’s fragrance line and although Fantasy is my favourite, this would be second in line. The bottle is beautiful and this has a fruity and warm scent and I always got compliments when I wore it. I would consider repurchasing it sometime in the future. - L’Occitane Supple Skin Oil
NOTES: This is going on 2 years old and I’d like to get rid of it before it goes rancid.
GOAL: Finish product
REVIEW: This is a beautiful and luxurious oil but it’s not something I’d repurchase again. It made my skin feel nice but for the price I think you can get something similar at the drugstore. I also hated the glass bottle – it gets super slippery after even applying the oil once. - NYX Lid Lingerie Eye Tint (Nude to Me)
NOTES: approximately 1/4 of the tub left
GOAL: Complete product
REVIEW: I’m in love with this liquid eyeshadow; it has a moussey texture, blends out nicely and has some great lasting power. I really enjoyed this liquid shadow – a true drugstore gem! Would re-purchase and recommend! - Sephora Oil Infusion (Bubbly Grenadine)
There doesn’t appear to be a lot left in this tube but as I mentioned above, lip products seem to take forever to use up so we’ll see how long this lasts.
GOAL: Complete product
REVIEW: This lip oil was comfortable to wear, moisturizing and left my lips with a pretty tint that was great for Summer. I did finish this but it’s disappeared so it’s not pictured above unfortunately. Sephora has discontinued these so even if I wanted to repurchase this, I couldn’t.
DECLUTTERING
- bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer (Luminous Gold)
I tried to use this but I just gave up on it after a while; it was making it hard for me to apply my foundation and it wasn’t even leaving any glow behind like it claimed. I don’t think they make this anymore which is a good thing. - Too Faced Matte Eye Palette
I loved and still love this palette but it’s time to let it go – it’s so old. My goal was to completely finish up some of the shadows in here and I didn’t do that but I hit pan on them so that’s enough for me. So long, old friend! - Benefit Sugarbomb Lip Gloss
I’ve barely used this gloss and I just couldn’t bring myself to use it – it’s clear and really thick and sticky and it’s just time for it to go. - Kiko Milano Long Lasting Stick 8-Hour No-Transfer Eyeshadow
I added this shadow stick in last Summer with the plan to use it up; it had other ideas – the stick broke off after a few uses. Honestly I wasn’t too torn up about it – this was a pretty colour but I had a lot of trouble trying to get it to blend. - Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Pencil (Tornado)
My goal was to finish this pencil up but after using it for a month or so the pencil was so dried up it broke off – I don’t blame it, it was old. Urban Decay makes some of my favourite eye pencils but if I’m going to do liner I either use a dark shadow or a liquid liner now so I probably wouldn’t repurchase this.
CARRY-OVER TO 2019
- Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (Dim Light)
My goal with this was to hit pan and I didn’t even come close – I barely reached for it in fact. I intended on using this as a base shadow but determined it’s too orange for that purpose. I’m giving it one final chance in my project pan for 2019 – as a transition eyeshadow shade and potentially a bronzer in the summer. Wish me luck! - Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
My goal with this was to use 1/2 of the jar; it’s hard to say if I did or not but regardless I’m throwing it back in the mix for 2019 as there’s still a lot of product in here. - Milani Color Statement Lip Liner (03 Nude)
I had planned to finish up this lip liner and I failed at that. I did use it quite a bit but there’s still some pencil left so back in the project it goes. - Bite Beauty Luminious Creme Lipstick (Mauvember)
I threw this in during my Summer update and I did put quite a dent in it. There’s about 1/4 of the tube left so I’d like to just finish it up.
I’m a little disappointed that I was (officially) one product short of completing 18 products in 2018 but overall I feel like my project was pretty successful. I think I’m going to continue with the theme of selecting the same number of products as the year so in 2019 my goal is to complete 19 products – wish me luck!
i used to love the too faced matte eye palette so much ! it was my go to palette !
https://www.clairetalksbeauty.com/
It was such a good palette – I feel like their formula then was superior to what it is now!
Well done! I have to go through my eyeliner stash to see if any have dried out, since I mostly only use two from my stash!
Yeah it’s not something I really thought about – for some reason I just assumed they’d last forever? Haha!
