This & That Fridays – December 14

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve done a T&T Friday post – I was away for a couple of weeks on vacay and I was pretty busy before that so blogging sort of fell off the wayside, as it always does.  I’m happy to be back at it though!

Our vacation was kind of a whirlwind – we visited Vegas for a few days, then New Orleans, Miami and finally Grand Cayman Island.  There were highlights and lowlights of each place and you can expect a trip diary for each location coming up shortly.

Are you ready for the holidays?  I’m pretty much done my shopping and now I just have some baking and wrapping to do.  I baked my Toberlone Shortbread this week (and they turned out great!) and this weekend I think I’m going to do my Cherry Cheesecake Squares and attempt Snickerdoodles.

I received an email yesterday from Sephora promoting “Spring Makeup” and it really annoyed me – can you just let me enjoy Christmas?  Not that I’m complaining about Spring but c’mon – it’s getting to be a bit much.  Thoughts?

After watching and Samantha Jane rave about imPress Press-On nails, I found them at Wal-Mart yesterday and picked up a pair to test out.  They were really easy to apply and look fantastic BUT I keep catching and pulling out my hair (seriously OUCH!).  I think that might have something to do with how I applied them so hopefully I’ll do better next time – I’m really imPressed though (sorry, had to!).

While in the US I stopped into Express and picked up a couple pairs of their leggings.  First a comfy pair – the One Eleven Supersoft; these are so cozy but very thin – you definitely need to wear these with a long top but they are probably the comfiest leggings I’ve ever worn.  Then a a fancier Faux Leather pair.  I haven’t worn these yet but they seem like they’re going to be pretty comfortable and cute paired with boots and a long sweater.

I also got my hands on Lorac’s Pro 4 palette and I’ve been using it this week – I absolutely love it so far and kind think it might be my new favourite Lorac palette.  Review coming soon!

I think I’m going to put myself on a eyeshadow palette hiatus come the New Year but in the meantime I’m just going to lust over this NARS Ignited palette – I’m such a sucker for pink and purple eyeshadows!

How cute are these cable knit mittens from Chapters/Indigo?

I’m trying to cut out dairy but don’t these Oatmeal Cream Cheese Butterscotch bars sound (and look!) amazing!  As do these Millionaire Shortbread Cookies (I’d say they’re more of a bar than a cookie but what do I know?)

I’m kind of in love with these Snowflake Candle Holders from Crate & Barrel. They’re somewhat simple but I bet they look beautiful lit up!

This book started out interesting and then it became far-fetched, drawn out and boring, which is why it took me weeks to finish it.  Wouldn’t recommend.
