Shop Canadian Gift Guide

As a general rule, I try to support local businesses when I can and when my wallet allows me to.  This year I thought it’d be nice to feature some of my favourite products from local and Candian businesses in gift-guide form, just in case you need some gift ideas (psst – Christmas is less than two weeks away – eek!).  I wanted to mention that I either currently own or have previously tried all of these products so I can vouch for their quality and they all get my stamp of approval!

  1. Rocky Mountain Soap Company Bathing Bliss Set – $51.90 CAD
Another Alberta company that makes some lovely bath and body products.  This set is great for that person that needs a little bit of relaxation and pampering – I particularly enjoy their bubble bath!
  2. The Ordinary No-Brainer Set – $29 CAD
Okay I know technically L’Oreal took over The Ordinary earlier this year but I still say they classify as a Canadian company.  I tried several of their products this year, fell in love with many of them and hope to try even more in 2019.  This set includes three popular products including the Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA moisturizer, the Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion and the Buffet serum.   This is a great gift to give the person in your life who wants to dip their toe into some new, affordable skincare.
  3. Bloomiss Blooming Gloss – $18 CAD
I received two products from Bloomiss earlier this year to test out and I fell in love with their lip gloss.  I own the shade Kissing Coral and it’s such a pretty peachy shade and I love the formula – it’s silky, smooth, not at all sticky and smells like vanilla cake!  I’ve travelled with this and it’s earned its spot in my purse as one of my-go to lip products.
  4. David’s Tea Best of 2018 Tea Set – $26 CAD
I’ve received one of these sets in previous years and I loved the variety as well as the ability to try out several flavours of their tea.  This year’s set includes some interesting ones like Peanut Butter Cup and Lemon Cayene Cleanse (very January appropriate!).
  5. West of the 5th Spiced Shine $29.99 CAD
I picked up a bottle of this moonshine for my husband at the Festival of Crafts in November but it turns out we both really like it.  It’s the perfect winter drink – warm, spicy and potent!  This is made by a distillery located in Barrhead in Alberta and they also do fruit wines!
  6. Evoolution Black Truffle Popcorn Set – $18.50 CAD
This is the second year that Evoolution has made its way into one of my gift guides but I couldn’t not include this truffle popcorn set.  It includes their butter olive oil and their black truffle salt and the combination on popcorn is perfection!
  7. Purdys Himalayan Pink Salt Caramels – $21 CAD
Sea salt + caramel + chocolate = what’s not to like?  Seriously though, these are delicious and one of my favourite Purdy’s treats (close behind their chocolate dipped ice cream bars!)
  8. Cedar Mountain What if I Fall Wall Art – $60 CAD
I was gifted a piece of Cedar Mountain’s wall art (this one to be exact) and I love that they have so many different variations to fit anyone on your gift list – kids, pet lovers, wine lovers – you name it, they have it!
  9. Saje Aroma Om White Ultrasonic Diffuser – $89.95 CAD
I’m currently on my second Saje diffuser (the first one perished in an unfortunate meeting with my floor) and I never want to be without one.  I use mine all year round (but especially in the colder months) to diffuse various essential oils into my space which is a really nice alternative to candles which often cause me headaches.

Who’s your favourite local or Canadian business to support?
