Currently Coveting – Holiday Beauty Releases

a collage of various holiday beauty releases include eyeshadow and cheek palettes, skincare and haircare

Is anyone thinking of the holidays right now?  I know I’m not – I don’t tend to focus on it until after Halloween.  However, all these beauty and makeup brands have other ideas; they started releasing their holiday gift sets and products way back in September.  Personally, I think it’s ridiculous and it seems to get earlier every year but yet here I am making a post about it in October so I suppose I don’t have much of a right to complain.  🤷🏼‍♀️Anyway, today I’m sharing some of the Fall and Holiday beauty releases for 2018 that have interested me and that I’m considering either picking up or throwing on my wish list for the holidays.

Eyes

Do these eyeshadow palettes all look a little similar to you?  Yes.  Do I need another eyeshadow palette?  Nope.  Is either of these things going to stop me from getting, at minimum, one of these palettes?  Nope!

Colorpop It’s a Princess Thing Eyeshadow Palette

I know this palette isn’t anything unique and honestly, the chances of me making a Colourpop order are next to none but I really want this.  I love the packaging and I’ve been very interested in trying more of their eyeshadows since I fell in love with the Take Me Home palette and this looks like a shade range that I would really enjoy.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) it looks like this is sold out and who knows when it will be restocked – same goes for the entire line. 🙁

Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Eye Shadow Palette

The reason I want this – for the scent.  I LOVE anything gingerbread flavoured or scented so I was so excited when I saw Too Faced release this palette.  On top of that, I’m generally a fan of their eyeshadows so this one is going to be hard for me to pass up.

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette

I own 2 Naked palettes and I like both of them and this one just speaks to me.  I love pink/rosy/cranberry/burgundy shades and this is just a beautiful monochromatic collection of everything I love.  It seems to be getting good reviews as well.

Stila Shimmer Heights Mini Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow Set

This little set is such a good deal; you receive 3 minis of Stila’s Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows for a few dollars more than a single would cost you.  I currently own the shade Kitten (which is included in this set) and I’m in love with it – it’s a beautiful shade and the formula is perfection.  I’d love to have a travel size version as well as the opportunity to try out two more of the shades.

Lorac Pro Palette 4

Out of all of the eyeshadow palettes I’ve mentioned above, this one has the highest possibility of coming home with me.  You know I love Lorac (feel free to tell me to shut up about it at this point) and similar to the UD Naked Cherry palette, this just speaks to me in an array of beautiful berry toned shadows. I absolutely do not need this so I’m really hoping to get my hands on this within the next month or so 🤞🏻

Cheeks

Second weakness after eyeshadow palettes? Blush.

NARS Hot Tryst Cheek Palette

Every year I lust over one of these NARS cheek palettes and every year I never pull the trigger.  But this one might be my favourite yet!  I absolutely love the design imprinted on the powders and the shades look stunning as well.  They do appear to all be shimmery or sparkly, however, so I definitely think I want to see these in person.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter Mini Macaron Set

I honestly don’t even know why I want this – I only own one Becca highlighter (Champagne Pop) and I’m not really a fan of the formula – personally, I find enhances texture and it doesn’t last on my skin.  That said, I would like to try another shade to see if it works better for me.  Plus, I mean, aren’t these just so cute?

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 4

Ack, $95 for a blush + highlighter palette?  While this is outrageous, I keep seeing great reviews on it and I would really like to try some more of Hourglass’ products.

Lips

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick (Naked Cherry Collection) – Juicy

I’m not usually a fan of shimmery lipsticks but I watched a few YouTubers apply and wear this and I thought the shade looked so pretty and fun for the holidays.  Also, I’ve never tried any of Urban Decay’s lip products before so I feel like it’s time.

Colourpop Crème Lux Lipstick – Ariel

Do I need another mauve-toned lipstick?  Nope but a mauve lipstick + pretty gold packaging for $7?  Too hard to pass up.  Again, this is sold out so the chances of me getting my hands on it are slim but I can dream!

Skin

Peter Thomas Roth Mask Appeal Set

Okay, I haven’t even gotten through one of the masks from the Meet Your Mask set I picked up last month but by the time the holidays roll around, I’m likely to be out of at least one of my favourites – likely the Cucumber Gel Mask.  This set contains both a mini of that, plus the Pumpkin Enzyme mask and the Hungarian Thermal water mask.  So tempting!

Sephora Collection Avocado Hand Mask

My hands get very dry in the colder months and that irritates my eczema so I’m constantly slathering them in hand cream.  I’ve never tried a hand mask but I can only assume that it would help – plus I’m in love with the Avocado Sleeping Mask from the Sephora Collection so I figure this has to be good as well!

Hair

Sephora Favourites Best Hair Ever Kit

I love these Sephora Favourites kits, I wish they’d do more of them.  This one contains some products I have my eye on including the Ouai Wave Spray, IGK Hydrating Hair Balm and the Christophe Robin Sea Salt Scalp Scrub.

Comments

  1. Companies need to legit stop with the September holiday releases! Most people are so not in the holiday mood in September.

When they first announced the Disney x ColourPop palette I was sooo excited for it, but since seeing the actual shades included, I’m meh. The packaging is to die for, though!

I’ve also been wanting the Too Faced Gingerbread palette, but then I swatched it in stores and 3 of the 5 shades that were swatched were crumbly and not pigmented. I think I’ve changed my mind on it!

The Hot Tryst palette is sooo beautiful. Like dang! I also want the Hourglass palette and can’t justify buying both though!

Wonderful choices! Lots of good stuff in here that’s on my holiday wish list too!
