Work from Home clothing

Since I started working from home over a year ago, my wardrobe consists of a lot less blazers and skirts, and a lot more leggings and sweatshirts.  Am I complaining?  Not at all – in fact it’s definitely one of the perks I enjoy the most about not having to leave the comfort of my home on a daily basis.  BUT it can be super easy to get into a rut and feel frumpy some days, so I try and make an effort every morning to do my makeup and change out of my PJ’s.  I thought I’d share what I like to wear as well as a few things I have my eye on, in case you also work from home or if you’re just a fan of comfortable clothes like I am!

Leggings (13, 14)

I’ll be honest – if I’m wearing pants, there’s a 95% chance they’re leggings – so having good ones are essential.  My favourite cotton everyday leggings are from Express – specifically their Sexy Stretch Ankle Leggings.  They’re not too thick nor too thin and the ankle length fits me perfectly.  I stockpiled them before Express left Canada but once my stash wears out, sadly I’m going to have to find a replacement.  Recently I picked up a pair of the Balance Collection Solid High Waisted Leggings; I personally refer to these as yoga pants rather than leggings as they are a little thicker, stretchier and more conducive to working out.  I scored a pair of these in black from Winners for $20 and they are the absolute best yoga pants I’ve ever worn!  They’re so soft and comfortable and they stay put (other yoga pants always stretch out and slide down on me).  I’ve already picked up two more pairs because I’m completely obsessed with these and I can’t believe how cheap they are – such a fab find!

Cardis (10, 11)

Cardigans are a wardrobe staple for me – they’re perfect for layering in all seasons and I like that they make me feel a little more pulled together than a sweatshirt.  I own last years’ version of this American Eagle Plush Hooded Cardigan and I love it – it’s super soft but it’s also on the thinner side so it’s nice for warmer days.  Something I’ve been eyeing for a while is the Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Lite Circle Cardigan.  I blame Makeup by Tiffany D for this – she raves about these all the time and I wasn’t convinced until I went into Nordstrom myself and tried one on.  This will be going on my Christmas list this year for sure!

Tees (5, 6, 7)

Tees are an absolute essential for lounge wear and cozy days; my absolute favourite are the Halogen Model Jersey V-Neck Tee but I pick mine up at Nordstrom Rack for 1/4 of the price (seriously – $9.99 vs $39!); I recently picked up this Cuffed Dolman Tee from Loft – it’s made of a thicker material and is more of a relaxed fit – I only wish they made these in more colours.  Lastly, I picked up a Relaxed Plush-Knit Raglan Tee from Old Navy a few years ago and it’s still going strong.  It’s plush, cozy and I like the longer length on these.

Sweatshirts (3, 4)

I ❤️ Sweatshirts so much so I devoted an entire post to them last year.  My absolute fave is my David Lerner Mickey Mouse Front Graphic Print Raglan Pullover (mine is similar) – it’s so cozy, warm and pairs perfectly with leggings.  Oh and did I mention that it washes really well – the more I wash it the cozier it gets.  I’m dying to get another one but I can never find them in-store.  I’ve been eyeing these Blonde sweatshirts by BRUNETTE the Label for a while but I can’t decide if they’re just overpriced and overhyped sweatshirts or worthy of their price tag.  The lavender one is cute though, isn’t it?

Miscellaenous (1, 2, 8, 9)

I get soooo cold sitting at my desk during the day so I’m usually wrapped up in a blanket. I don’t know if I could justify the price of this Barefoot Dreams Disney Classic Blanket but I feel like it’d match my Mickey pullover perfectly, don’t you think?  Another desk essential – a pair of fuzzy slippers, such as these Faux Fur ones – definitely looking for these the next time I’m in Gap.  During the warmer months leggings and sweatshirts are out of the question, so a stretchy dress is always a good option.  I picked up this Loft Outlet Super Soft Side Ruched Dress and I can’t put into words how comfortable this is.  I think this will double as a great traveling dress too!  If you haven’t discovered bralettes yet what are you even doing?  They’re a whole new glorious, underwire-free world and there’s no going back once you’re there.  Arie has lots of cute options such as this Wonder Lace Padded Bralette.

For Maggie (12)

But of course Maggie needs to be comfortable too so she totally needs her very own Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Ribbed Pet Sweater.  Listen, unless I win the lottery, I won’t be picking this up but I had to include this – she is a princess after all! 😉
