This & That Fridays – June 15

WHAT’S UP

Hello Everyone!  Did you miss me?  I’m back after a brief hiatus; if you don’t follow me on Instagram you may not know that I had to take a blogging break.  I ended up with carpal tunnel in my hand and typing really seemed to aggravate it so I needed to limit my use of a keyboard for a while.  While it’s not 100% better yet, it’s a lot better than it was so I decided it was time to return to blogging!

So there was a bit of drama with my site last week.  On Thursday night I was in the middle of writing up a post and all of a sudden WordPress kicked me out and it told me I needed to install WordPress again.  Wut.  So I contacted my web host and eventually found out that they were having a major server issue.  Both my blog and my business site (and everyone else who uses Web Hosting Canada as their web host) ended up being down until Saturday afternoon because they had to manually backup everyones websites.  I was NOT impressed but thankfully I wasn’t in the middle of redesigning my blog like I was the week before – all’s I lost was a half of a post.  They did issue me a credit for the downtime too – but that only ended up being $7.

RECENT PURCHASES

I’ve been on a big shorts kick lately, most of which have been from Old Navy.  My favourite pair are these; they’re super comfortable and I love the scalloped detail on the hem.  I really wanted to get them in pink too but they were sold out at the time.

I heard such good things about the Magnolia Table cookbook that I had to pick it up for myself (it’s way cheaper at Costco BTW); I haven’t tried any recipes yet but I’ve got a bunch of them earmarked, there are so many that sound delicious I don’t know where to start!

Last weekend I picked up a neckerchief.  WTF is a neckerchief you ask?  Well it’s a cute little scarf that you can tie on your purse, around your neck or in your hair.  I’ve used it a few times in my hair and I think it’s super cute, I just need to figure out a way to get it to stay put as it likes to slide around a lot.

CURRENTLY COVETING

This skirt is so pretty and summery!

Lorac is making a Pro 4 palette and I’m definitely going to try and get my hands on it the next time in the US.  Some are saying it looks boring but I think it looks beautiful!

Ted Baker makes the cutest, prettiest shoes.  Such as these mules, these pumps and these sneakers! <3

Meatball marsala?  Sounds delicious, I’m definitely going to try making this come Fall.

READING CORNER

Luckiest Girl Alive

I really enjoyed this book; it dipped into some serious subjects but I like it when books do that.  It seems like people either loved it or hated but I think it’s worth a try.

Only Child

This book is about a school shooting from a child’s perspective; I found it really powerful but I suspect some could find it disturbing.  Definitely not a light-hearted beach read but I couldn’t put this down.

I’m so happy you’re back!! I indeed HAVE missed you! I know you already have another blog post up, so I’m looking forward to reading it.

Those scalloped shorts are so cute! I’m big into them right now…might have to go check those ones out!

Girl NO you do not need more palettes, LOL!

Okay, I tried on those Ted Baker sneakers a while back at Town Shoes, and maybe it’s because I already look young, but I legit looked like I was 10 years old in them. They are so adorable, though!

      Aw thanks!

Lol I know I do not need anymore palettes – like at all. But for Lorac I’m willing to ignore that rule. 😉

Oh see I didn’t try those sneakers on – I bet they’d look the same on me. Cute from afar I guess!

      Thanks for reading! 🙂
