This & That Fridays – April 6

Ok I’ve been slacking big time on my blog for the last few weeks.  Ever since I launched my business I’ve lost a bit of my motivation to blog but I think I’ve found it again and I hope to catch up on a bunch of posts next week.

I hate to complain about the weather but I can’t stand it anymore – it’s been SO.DAMN.COLD here for weeks!  Like -15 with windchill highs during the day.  It’s making everyone super cranky but *fingers crossed* after another couple days of snow (UGH) and cold temperatures it’s supposed to be more seasonable on Monday.

Lately I just cannot stop buying eyeshadow palettes – my latest is the bareMinerals Bare Sensuals palette which is an older palette and unfortunately difficult to find online.  I got mine at a bareMinerals outlet store.  I included it in my Monthly Makeup Focus (MMF) for April and so far, I love it!

While at the BareMinerals outlet I also picked up one of their Invisible Bronze Baked Powder Bronzers in Fair to Light; I haven’t used this too much but I included it in my MMF as well.

I picked up a couple of tees while at Express recently too – this blue and white one that I think will look great with white jeans and a lilac version of this one.  I like the tie-front detail but the quality on these isn’t great, I’ve washed them once and they’re already starting to pill 🙁

Love this anorak from Rickis, I just wish it came in other colours.

Indigo has a new Kate Spade home decor items and I’m in love with this frame and this vase.

Every year I drool over the newest Nars Cheek palettes but I can never bite the bullet and buy one – that $74 price tag is hard to swallow I guess.

How amazingly fattening does this look?

I usually don’t buy shoes that aren’t leather (especially sandals) but how cute are these from Old Navy?

Um Tiffany’s has a donkey charm pendant?  #need

I always wanted a Chia Pet and this is probably the cutest one I’ve seen.  Also who doesn’t need a Blog Friend (whatever that is)?

Dark Places – Gillian Flynn

So I downloaded this and started to read it only to realize I’ve read this before and it wasn’t that long ago – specifically just a few months ago.  I’m not even exaggerating when I say that I do this at least once a month. *Face palm*  In short, this is a good one albeit disturbing and dark.  If you like thrillers and enjoyed Gone Girl, I’d recommend it.

Almost Missed You – Jessica Strawser

This is classified as a suspense but I’d say it was more of a romantic suspense; what I didn’t like about it was the fact that it jumped frequently from the past to the present which I always find distracting.

Honestly, I’ve been complaining about the cold so often that I just saw no point in doing it anymore and stopped, lol. Plus we’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!…maybe.

Maybe you can pick up the NARS cheek palette during the VIB sale? It’s “only” $63 after the 15% discount 😛

The stuffed shells look so delicious, but they look like a lot of work AND fattening, haha. There’s probably a way to make it more healthy by replacing some of the ingredients!

lol I’m really trying hard not to complain but -25 in APRIL?!?! I feel like we all have a right to complain as much as we want now because this is ridiculous!

You’re not really trying to convince me to make chicken alfredo healthier are you? Cuz it’s not going to work lol

Also thank you for the enabling with the cheek palette – $63 for 6 blushes is obviously super reasonable but since I never buy 6 blushes at once it just seems insane. Plus I should really just focus on the ones I have in my collection that are barely used right?
