Monthly Makeup Focus – February 2018

It’s month 2 of my Monthly Makeup Focus!  For more details on this project, you can reference my first post here.  Let’s get into this months products!

Prada Candy

I decided to throw a fragrance in here this time around – I have a couple body sprays that are a part of my Project Pan but I like to wear a stronger, longer-lasting scent if I’m going out.

Too Faced Love Flush Blush Palette

I love this limited-edition blush palette but I haven’t touched it in a loooong time.

Too Faced Peach Perfect Foundation

This is a new edition to my foundation collection, I picked it up at the Fall VIB Sale.  Because it’s matte, I want to focus on using it in the colder months which is why I’m throwing it in the mix.

Physicians Formula Concealer Twins (Green/Light)

I’ve been on a bit of a Physician’s Formula concealer kick lately and even though I picked this up quite a few months ago, I’ve barely touched it.  It’s kind of interesting in that it’s dual ended with one side being a traditional concealer and the other being a colour-correcting green concealer.

elf Flawless Finish foundation

I picked up this foundation sometime last year and I’ve used it a few times since but I don’t remember what it was like.  Time to put it to the test!

No.7 Beautiful Skin Pore Minimizing Serum

I have two bottles of this serum because I really like it but I need to start using it up.  I thought it’d be a good time to test it out under the two foundations I’ve included this month.

Naked 3 Palette

This is my newest eyeshadow palette – I redeemed my Shopper’s Optimum points for it last month and I didn’t even start using it until February (that was hard).

Too Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette

This is my second newest eyeshadow palette and it’s overdue for a review – I wanted to ensure I got a review done on it for next month and what better way by using it this month?

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Twice Baked)

I have so many of these Urban Decay pencils in my collection that have 1/4 of the pencil left; this was a limited edition shade (glittery mid-town brown) and I thought it would pair well with either of the eyeshadow palettes above.

Maybelline Collossal Big Shot mascara

Given last month’s success with the Maybelline’s Total Temptation mascara, I thought I’d try another one of theirs and this ones seems to get rave reviews all around.

Pantene Airspray Alcohol-Free Hairspray

I needed a new hairspray and when I came across this one that is alcohol-free, it intrigued me.

Verb Volume+ Shampoo & Conditioner

I love a good volumizing shampoo and I’m happy to be digging into one of my many f

TRESemme Wave Creation Mousse

I received this quite a few years ago in a Luxe box and used it once or twice since then.  I don’t remember it being especially memorable but I’ll test it out again and see what it’s like.

Stay tuned for my wrap-up post in a couple of weeks – thanks for reading!

  1. Ooh you’ve gone through a lot of Prada Candy! It’s a good winter scent, I should wear mine too…
I tried a Physicians Formula corrector / concealer ages ago and it was SUPER pigmented – as I recalled, it didn’t blend that well though.
The Verb shampoo & conditioner are quite good! I recently used those same samples.
Good luck with your makeup focus for this month!

    • Prada Candy is perfect for Winter, isn’t it? I’ve had my bottle for a couple years but I reach for it a lot – it’s a great fragrance.

I tried the Verb shampoo & conditioner a few days ago and it seemed pretty good! My hair felt nice and smooth.

  2. Everyone always talks about Prada Candy, I’ve always wonder what it smelled like!
Oooh I also have the same The Verb sample – gonna try using it this weekend. I hope I don’t like it so I won’t get addicted to high-end haircare LOL.
Hmm a lot of people say they love the TF foundation. You don’t find the matte quality of it too drying?

    • Prada Candy is a heavier scent and kinda spicy and sweet. It’s great for Winter and has really good siliage.

I tried the Verb haircare and it (unfortunately) seems pretty good – it doesn’t seem to unreasonably priced though, $18 for a bottle?

I’m not a matte foundation person at all but the TF foundation is awesome – it’s maybe like a satin matte? It’s really impressed me.
