Loving Lately: October – December 2017

It’s time for another round of my quarterly favourites aka – what I’ve been loving lately!

First up, some haircare!  I’ve been alternating between two types of purple shampoo for my blonde hair and I like them both for different reasons.  Blonde Sexy Hair’s Sulfate-Free Bombshell Blonde Shampoo & Conditioner have been doing a great job at keeping my hair brass-free; in addition I love how manageable, tangle-free and soft my hair is after using both of these!

I’ve also been using Schwarzkopf’s Blonde Me Shampoo & Tone Enhancing Bonding Mask*; the Shampoo works well but the star is the mask – I find it super nourishing and moisturizing without weighing my hair down.  It’s also purple so it helps with reducing brassiness too!

On to makeup – I had to include Too Faced’s Just Peachy Mattes palette in here because it’s just an amazing palette!  I mentioned how much I loved it in my Sephora Haul but every time I use it, I love it more.  The formula is fantastic and the colours are beautiful; as mentioned I will be doing a full review on this palette, I’ve got it planned for early January!

Next, another Too Faced product, this time their Peach Perfect Comfort Matte foundation; again, the more I use this, the more I enjoy it.  It’s one of the few matte foundations I can actually wear and actually works with my combo/dry skin.  It has some amazing staying power as well!  I prefer more of a matte look during the Winter months and I’ve been reaching for this regularly since I picked it up at the Sephora sale!

Switching gears to something a little different: deodorant.  I swore a while back that I’d never make the switch to natural deodorants yet here I am, including one in my quarterly favourites!  I recently decided to make the switch to aluminum-free deodorant from a heavy-duty antiperspirants, after realizing my beloved Mitchum really wasn’t doing much to stop me from sweating at all.  I tried a few different natural deodorants but the Crystal Body Deodorant is my favourite by-far because 1) it actually works!  2) It’s fragrance-free (an absolute MUST for me 3) It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and 4) it doesn’t leave any residue or white streaks on my clothes.  I’ve tried the spray and the roll on but I like the roll-on the best.  If you wear natural deodorant, I’d 100% recommend you give this a try.

Lastly, I’ve got a couple skin care favourites, with my first one being the Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer. This is my new favourite moisturizer because not only does it leave my skin soft, smooth and hydrated, it leaves behind the perfect canvas for foundation. Seriously my foundation just glides on like butter after I use this!  My only complaint is that it’s housed in a glass jar – I wish it had a pump instead but it won’t stop me from re-purchasing this!

Another skin care favourite has been this Herbivore Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask.  This came in the Sephora Favourites skin care kit I picked up recently and I’ve been using it about once a week since. It contains some great ingredients, including BHA’s, AHA’s, Blue Tansy Oil and Aloe Leaf which is a concoction my skin just loves! I’ve never used a mask that leaves my skin looking so glowy and healthy – it’s seriously impressive.

What have you been loving lately?

*This product was sent to me for review purposes but all opinions are my own

  1. So glad you found a deodorant that works for you! It was trial and error for me too when I was making the switch from antiperspirants to deodorants but worth it in the end. I haven’t tried Crystal Body Deodorant – might have to give it a whirl.
I’ve been curious about the brand Herbivore but haven’t heard people talking about it. I’ll have to keep this mask in mind.

    • I had never heard of Herbivore prior to getting the Blue Tansy mask in the Sephora skincare set – so glad to have to discovered it, they have some really cool products!

I remember your natural deodorant “journey” – are you still using the LaVanilla one?

  2. I think I already said in your Sephora haul, but that Herbivore mask looks bomb. It has so many good ingredients in it!
That’s awesome that the TF foundation works great for you! I find matte foundations can go either way – either it looks great or it clings onto your dry spots for dear life.

    • 100% recommend the Herbivore Blue Tansy Mask – sooo soo good. I have to make a point not to use it everyday.

Me and matte foundations rarely get along but that one is really good – it’s the perfect balance!
