What Should I Buy – Sephora VIB Sale Fall 2017

I swear just a minute ago I was complaining about the hot weather and now all of a sudden its November and it’s time for another Sephora sale.  We have a heavy snowfall warning here today and with windchill it feels about -17 Celsius so you can understand why I’m reminiscing about warmer temperatures.  🙁

Thank Dog (yes, dog) for the Sephora VIB Sale – definitely need some makeup to distract me from the accumulating snow outside my window and the fact that I have to go out and shovel it soon.  I’ve put together a couple different categories of products – Definitely Buying, Still Deciding and Dreaming.  The first two are self-explanatory I think, the last one is things I would buy if I won a small lottery or came across a Sephora gift card with a large sum on it – it’s fun to dream!  Oh and I put some recommendations in near the end too.

DEFINITLEY

Too Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette – Peaches and Cream Collection

I loved the look of this palette the minute I saw it and the reviews I’ve seen have all been really positive.  I’ll probably end up looking like I have a bad case of pink eye with some of those burgundy shades but what the hell – it’s gorgeous!

Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation – Peaches and Cream Collection

This time around I was smart and picked up a sample of this foundation BEFORE buying the full-size of it – what a concept.  I’m so glad I did – I wasn’t really sure what to expect given that it’s a matte foundation but this is fantastic.  It’s matte but doesn’t make my face look flat and dull.  It doesn’t cling to dry patches and it stays in place all day.  Can’t wait to get my hands on the full-size!

Becca Backlight Priming Filter Face Primer

Polished & Inspired raves about this luminizing prime so I think I’m going to try out the travel size of it.

| Sephora Collection Avocado Sleeping Mask

I LOVE this mask – it’s so hydrating and perfect for this cold dry weather!

| Living Proof Prime Style Extender Mini

I totally forgot about this hair primer until I found a travel size of it stashed away in my bathroom; I started using it again and I remembered how much I love it – my hair tends to fall flat for no real reason on any given day and this helps keep my style intact longer.  A little goes a long way so the travel size lasts me a long time.

STILL DECIDING

OleHenriksen 3 Little Wonders Mini

I’m on the hunt for a new everyday moisturizer and I do enjoy the Truth Serum included in this set – it seems like a good value!

| Boscia Luminizing Pink Charcoal Mask

Because its pink, luminizing and it’s a peel-off mask.

| Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm

Now that my skin is getting clearer, I’d really like to find a quick and easy, one and done complexion product and I’ve heard nothing but good things about this BB Cream.

| Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

I’ve never had much luck with stick foundations but everyone raves about this one.

| Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Foundation

I’ve gone through quite a few foundations this year and I’m anxious to add some more to my collection – I hear that this is supposed to be lightweight and natural-looking.

| Too Faced Peach Blur Translucent Smoothing Finishing Powder – Peaches and Cream Collection

Based on the reviews I’ve read/heard, I think this could be a really good finishing powder for overtop of the Peach Perfect foundation.

| BareMinerals The Hidden Treasure Ready 18.0 Eyeshadow Palette

Okay I’m already getting one eyeshadow palette – do I need another one?  No.  But doesn’t this look sooooo pretty?

| Benefit Galifornia Blush Mini

Do I need another blush?   No, but I’ve been eyeing this up since Summer and the Benefit’s mini boxed products last forever.

| Sol De Janerio Brazillian Bum Bum Cream

Everyone raves about this moisturizer; I love my OGX Miracle Coconut Oil lotion but I’d like to see how the two compare.

DREAMING

| Natasha Denona Lila Eyeshadow Palette

This palette looks beautiful but I don’t think I could ever bring myself to pay $168 for an eyeshadow palette.  It better apply itself for that price.

| Viseart Theory Palette (IV Amethyst)

I want this palette so bad but it’s ALWAYS sold out – grrrrr!

MY RECOMMENDATIONS

Links | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 |

| Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyeliner

It took me a while to realize how good this eyeliner was – it really is super easy to apply.  Plus it lasts forever – I swore it was drying up months ago but it’s still going strong and I bought this last December!

| Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer

This is my new favourite lip gloss – you can read why here.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream

This CC Cream isn’t going to work for everyone – their shade selection is limited and it’s best for those with combo to dry skin in my opinion.  I love that its full coverage and leaves me with a luminous, lit from within glow.

| Bite Beauty Agave Kisses Set

I picked up Bite’s Agave Lip Mask at the last sale and I love it – nothing I’ve used really compares to it.  This set is great because you get the lip mask, scrub and a balm!

| Viktor & Rolf Bonbon Fragrance

If you’re looking to treat yourself to a beautiful fragrance, I totally recommend this.  It’s the perfect mix of fruit and floral and the bottle is both unique and stunning!

| L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil

I think I recommended this last time but honestly, it’s so good that I had to mention it again.  I’ve tried other shower oils and nothing compares to this – definitely a winter skin care staple.

| Origins Mini Mask Set

I haven’t tried the face wash in this set but I have used and love all 3 of the masks in this set – they’re great for multi-masking!

Let me know what you’re picking up at the sale this year below – if you have a blog post or YouTube video please link it so I can read/watch it! 🙂

I am definitely getting the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette and I’m pretty sure I have myself convinced I’m getting the Drunk Elephant: Hot Date set but other than that, I haven’t made up my mind yet! I think there will be some impulse buys haha.

    • prettyrufflife says

Oohhhhh that Huda Beauty palette looks gorgeous as well – there are so many palettes that I’m interested in lately which is a nice change!

You always have to leave room for impulse buys for sure! 🙂

  2. Polished and Inspired says

Dang girl, so many goodies in here! Should I put that IT cosmetics CC Cream on my wish list? Hmmm…

We both have the TF palette and Bum Bum Cream on our list! I have the same pink eye worry about the palette, lol!

I hope you enjoy the Becca primer, i’ve been finding it really good for the winter. I’m also currently going through the UD foundation, and I LOVE the formula but be careful about choosing your shade – it oxidizes.

    • prettyrufflife says

I love the IT Cosmetics CC Cream but it seems to be a little polarizing – maybe get a sample first?

Thanks for the tip on the UD foundation – definitely going to get a sample first! Can’t wait to see what you pick up! 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!

Yessssss to the Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Palette! ?

I ended up ordering the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask because of this post! I’ve been wanting something more hydrating for bedtime and this looks like it will fit the bill quite nicely!

I had made a list before placing my orders but I’d say it ended up being mostly impulse buys, haha! Well, by impulse I mean I cruised the Sephora website for a few hours carefully deliberating and ended up getting quite a few items that weren’t on my list ?

    • prettyrufflife says

So glad I picked up that palette – I’ve been using it over the last week and I love it!

I hope you like the lip mask – its my go-to lip product for the Winter months.

Impulse buys are sometimes the best buys – looking forward to seeing what you picked up!

Oh man, I’ll just live vicariously through you! All those palettes sure are tempting but they’re more eye candy than useful for me – I just don’t use palettes very often.
I was eyeing a OleHenriksen set – they’re really good value for money. If you have enough perks points, I think there’s a set for 500pts.
The Benefit GALifornia blush is so pretty – I wanted it too but I know I don’t need it and I probably already have something very similar.
I put the Fenty lip gloss on my Christmas wish list for my MIL. I think she secretly likes buyiing me makeup since I’m the only girly girl in the family. 😛
I might pick up more stuff in round 2 when the sale is extended to VIBs and BIs starting this Friday. I shall see!

  5. Natalie says

Thank goodness this sale ended before I came across your post because I would have bought so much more. I love all your recommendations! I especially love the look of the Too Faced Finishing Powder…

    • prettyrufflife says

Haha thanks Natalie – I’ve been using that TF Finishing Powder for the last week and I’m not sure how I feel about it- I need to use it more. Thanks for stopping by!
