I’m slightly overdue for my bi-monthly favourites post – this Summer is just flying by so fast that I almost forgot to do one. Let’s jump in:
My first impression of this moisturizer was a positive one and that hasn’t changed – if anything I love it even more now that I’ve almost used up the tube! It gives my skin the perfect amount of moisture without being sticky or greasy and provides a fantastic base for my foundation. Love, love, love it!
Years ago I was addicted to Peter Thomas Roth’s 10% Glycolic Acid Moisturizer but for reasons I can’t remember, I stopped using it. Lately I’ve been dealing with a lot of bad breakouts and I finally decided to go back to using glycolic acid and I’ve seen such a difference in my skin! This (in addition to some changes to my diet) has seriously reduced the amount of breakouts I’ve been experiencing and it’s helped fade acne scars and hyperpigmentation as well. So glad I found this!
I recently rediscovered this foundation when I started using it a few weeks ago as part of my Project Pan for 2017; I forgot how good it is – I actually consider it one of my favourite foundations ever. It offers fantastic coverage that doesn’t look cakey and it lasts all day – and I don’t even have to set it with powder! If you haven’t tried this yet, I’d highly recommend doing so!
This is another gem that I found in a Shoppers Drug Mart clearance section and it was only $0.99! I haven’t really been a fan of cream eyeshadows in the past but this one blends nicely, is quite pigmented and doesn’t highlight/create texture on my lids. I definitley want to try out more shades!
I chatted about both this and the mascara below in my drugstore haul a couple months ago and I’ve still been using them and enjoying them. This one gives my lashes a more fanned out, fluttery look and it doesn’t flake or smudge. My only complaint is that it can be difficult to remove, especially if I manage to get it on my eyelid when applying it.
This mascara is pretty much the opposite of the Maybelline one above – it thickens, volumizies and plumps my lashes. I never hear anyone talk about this mascara – it seems to fly under the radar but I really think it’s a great one!
This is my new favourite toe polish for Summer – it’s such a beautiful vibrant blue green shade and it has a super easy formula to work with. It has a very subtle gold shimmer in it but I find it doesn’t really transfer to my nails at all. Regardless, I still love it and can’t stop using it!
You can read my full review on this and other Mont Bleu products I received here but since I’ve basically been using this foot file non-stop since I’ve got it, I felt it deserved a spot in my favourites. My feet are always in rough shape in the summer given my overwear of flip flops but this tool has really helped in keeping them look less troll-like, which is always a good thing.
I’m 100% in love with the OGX Coconut Miracle Body Lotion so this body wash was next on my list to try. I’m happy to report that it’s just as awesome as the body lotion. It has the same delicious vanilla/coconut/musk scent, it lathers well and makes my skin feel soft and smooth. Even better – it works awesome as a bubble bath too which you know I always love!
These are the best B&BW hand soaps I’ve ever tried- hands down. It appears as though they’re sold out on-line and I’m assuming they’re not part of their permanent collection (which is so disappointing) but I’ve seen them in-store so if you have a chance, pick up one or two. Of course they smell devine (as all B&BW products do) but I’ve never had a hand soap actually leave my hands feeling as moisturized and soft as these ones do. So good!
I’ve 100% fallen in love with these tees – they’re so soft and comfortable and easy to wear. I bought one a few months ago and have since added 3 more to my closet because I just can’t get enough of them. If you’re a t-shirt lover like me, I’d definitely recommend giving these a try!
I picked up this lip mask late last year at a Sephora sale, used it for a month or two and then threw it in my drawer and forgot about it. The reason – I determined (by process of elimination) that it was actually making my lips chapped and dry! While this had a nice gel texture and pleasant fruity scent, there is an ingredient in this that irritates the heck out of my lips – ironic because it’s supposed to do just the opposite. Unfortunately the list of ingredients is extensive so I have no idea what it could be. Pretty annoying considering I paid $24 CAD for it!
I picked up this lipstick on a whim while at Sephora a while back because the formula seemed creamy and the shade looked pretty. While it swatched nicely, it applied completely differently to my lips and not in a good way! It settles into every line on my lips aging them by about 30 years and it’s super patchy. Lesson learned: search Temptalia’s site for reviews before making any makeup going forward!
I used up a travel-sized can of this hairspray a while back and I liked it so I thought I’d give the full size a try – bad decision! Oddly enough, I don’t find the hairspray performs as well (it’s sticky!) and worst of all, the can leaks huge drops of hairspray on the floor when I go to use it. Plus I find the can heavy and bulky to hold. Huge fail all around!
That rounds up all of the products I’ve been loving (and not loving!) lately! Let me know below what you’ve been enjoying over the last few months!
