This & That Fridays – June 23

what’s going on with me…

Allergies have been so.damn.bad this week.  I’ve been trying to avoid taking anti-histamines but I caved and took some out of pure desperation.  Seasonal allergies make me so cranky!

Chris from the blog called me the Queen of Gifs on Twitter this week.  It’s a title I will take very seriously.  😉

We are heading to Montreal for a weekend this Summer and if you have any suggestions of places to see/things to do/where to eat I’d love to hear them!  It’ll be our first time visiting so we’re pretty excited!

have you seen/tried/heard?…

One of my goals this year was to be healthier which meant working out.  I’ll be honest, I hate working out but lately I’ve been doing this workout video I found on YouTube.  It’s a little cheesy but I like her energy and I find her quite motivating.  I’ve also attempted this one a few times and it’s good too!

I went back to using a glycolic acid moisturizer at night and it’s transforming my skin.  Wondering why I ever stopped using one.

If you haven’t seen Wonder Woman yet you must get yourself to a movie theatre to see it asap – it’s sooood good!  I’m not always a fan of superhero movies but I think everyone would/could enjoy this one.  Gal Gadot did an amazing job!

recent purchases…

I was super happy to find my absolute fave body lotion at Superstore last week on sale!  I stocked up on it and also picked up their body wash which I’ve been loving too.  This stuff smells SO GOOD!

Last weekend we went for dinner at a new local restaurant that serves Halifax Street Food.  I had a caesar with donair meat as a garnish and donair meat nachos.  Both were insanely delicious – totally recommend giving them a try if you are in the area!

currently coveting…

Have you ever tried any of OPI’s Infinite Shine polishes?  I’ve been loving super glossy nails lately.

President’s Choice has created Poutine Flavoured Smokies in honour of Canada’s 150 and as a Canadian I feel it’s my civic duty to try them out, in addition to their Bacon & Maple BBQ Sauce and Maple Flavoured Marshmallows.

Love this breezy blouse from RW & Co.  I actually like that entire outfit, although I’m not sure I could pull off pleated pants.

I’m about 2/3 of the way through this book and it’s been interesting – particularly on how she created the website that is Pop Sugar today.  Her work ethic is impressive – lots of great career advice in this one.

I loooved Wonder Woman! I am a superhero movie fanatic but I’ve been super disappointed in the last few DC films in this particular universe so I went in with really low expectations and walked out so happy! I love when a movie surprises me like that. Gal Gadot nailed it!

I’ve been trying to be healthier and work out more regularly lately too. I love aerobic/dance workouts, anything to make it not feel like work makes it so much better! ?

I have never heard of Halifax Street Food! :O We haven’t ate out much lately, so I don’t know what’s out there anymore! We’ll need to make a point of going there.

Wonder Woman was amaaaaazing.I’m not always a fan of superhero movies either but Gal Gadot/Wonder Woman was so badass. It’s also nice to see a female superhero movie do so spectacularly at the box office because I think historically they usually tank.

Montreal – you have to go to Mont Royal. It’s essentially a part with a fairly easy walk uphill, and at the top is a lookout overlooking the city. Beautiful! Also Old Montreal, very beautiful architecture.

How were all of the PC foods?! Did you get a chance to try them yet?

Thanks for the recommendations for Montreal – I’m adding them to my list!

I’ve never heard of Halifax Street Food either, before Blowers & Grafton. It’s a lot of donairs and pizza – so basically they had an instant fan in me! 🙂

I tried the Maple Bacon BBQ Sauce and it was amazing! Haven’t gotten around to the smokies or marshmallows yet! 🙂
