Did you brave the Spring Sephora Sale? I did – I did the majority of my shopping online so I could take advantage of ebates even though I think I only ended up getting about $4 from my order because they decreased the cash back percentage right in time for the sale 😐
I didn’t bother going on the first day of the sale to get the tote because I have a million of them – they need to start offering perks that aren’t totes. Didn’t they used to give bags of sample sized products instead? That could just be my imagination. Anyway I went on the Friday and was surprised that it wasn’t actually that busy which was nice!
Let’s get into what I picked up!
Originally I intended on picking up the ILIA Tinted Lip Conditioner but I spotted this one and when I compared the two, the shades were very similar, with the Ilia leaning slightly more pink. This one seemed more moisturizing though so I went with it. I’m really glad I did – it’s a great pinkish nude shade, super moisturizing and very comfortable to wear. I’ve already worn it a dozen times and I suspect it’s going to become one of my go-to lip products. The only drawback is because it’s so creamy I’ll likely be repurchasing this often. I’ll likely do a full review on this with swatches because I like it so much so stay tuned for that!
My Mom told me how good these were and while we were in line, I snagged one to try out. I’ve used it once and so far I’m pretty impressed. This has a gel-like consistency and is bright green so it almost feels like you are putting slime on your face which is kind of fun actually (to be clear this isn’t sticky in this least!). 😉 In all honesty though it felt amazing going on my skin and even better the next morning – super soft, moisturized and plump. I’m looking forward to trying out more of these!
This was something I’ve been eyeing up for a while because Allison Anderson just raves about it but I always forget to include in my shopping list. I’ve been having the worst experience with mascaras lately – everything flakes and smudges on me like crazy! It’s so frustrating so I’ve decided to resort to a lash primer to assist with my issues. So far I’ve tested this out with two mascaras – it did absolutely nothing for one (but it was getting old) and the second it did seem to make a bit of a difference but didn’t eliminate the problem completely. So far I can say I’m not really all that impressed but I think further testing is required.
Neither of the beachy fragrances I was considering were available in-store and I decided that’s what I wanted – something perfect for Summer (which is why I eliminated Nest Indigo). I decided to give this perfume a try because it smelled devine in-store; exactly how it’s described – a mix of coconut and vanilla. I still love the scent but it seems to disappear on me pretty quick which is annoying. I’ve used this a few times and I noticed that it’s probably about 1/5 of the way gone so I don’t expect this to last me very long. 🙁
This is the travel-sized version of this conditioning mask but it’s likely going to last me a while – there’s a lot packed into this little tub and a little of this goes a long way. Plus, I only plan on using this once a week or so. I used up a sample of this prior to buying it and loved it – which is why I purchased a larger size. Finally a deep conditioner that works on my fine hair!
I ordered this online and when it arrived I was a little shocked at the size – for some reason I thought it was going to be a lot bigger? That said, you barely need a drop of this to cover your lips – it’s super thick and emollient. I know there’s been some complaints about the packaging and I’d have to agree that it’s not the best – it’s really hard to squeeze the product out and on to your lips – they need to redesign it. My super dry and flaky lips are loving it though.
Okay so I know this is somewhat of a cult product – people love this gloss. I am a huge fan of Buxom’s glosses but I’m just kind of meh about this one – it basically just looks like a clear gloss on my lips so I don’t see myself wearing it a lot on it’s own. I know it’s described as a Pink Nude but I was just expecting a little more of a tint to it. It’ll work great on top of other lip products but I’m kind of wishing I had picked up Dolly or Rose Julep instead.
So happy to have this back in my life! This is the best liquid eyeliner I’ve ever used, hands down. After trying out several high-end and low-end versions, I’ve decided I’m just going to stick with this one.
I was very curious to see how this dry shampoo would compare to my beloved Batiste; I’ve used it a few times now and I’m not 100% sure how I feel about it. It’s powerful stuff – I don’t hate the fact that all I need is a few sprays and the oil in my hair disappears. That said, it does seem to leave more buildup in my hair that Batiste does BUT it doesn’t feel as dry and frizzy. Further use is required!
What I Didn’t Get
This wasn’t available in-store and I wanted to smell it before purchasing it so I passed on it.
Another one not available in-store and I gave my head a shake when I realized I was contemplating a body spray that cost $82.
They didn’t have this in-store so I was considering the non-SPF version until I got a whiff of it – it reeks! There’s actually quite a few comments on the Sephora website about this as well.
They didn’t have this in-store either but ultimately I decided I do not need another eyeshadow palette, particularly when it’s so close to one I already own. So pretty though!
What did you pick up at the Sephora sale?
