Sephora Spring Sale Haul

Did you brave the Spring Sephora Sale?  I did – I did the majority of my shopping online so I could take advantage of ebates even though I think I only ended up getting about $4 from my order because they decreased the cash back percentage right in time for the sale 😐

I didn’t bother going on the first day of the sale to get the tote because I have a million of them – they need to start offering perks that aren’t totes.  Didn’t they used to give bags of sample sized products instead?  That could just be my imagination.  Anyway I went on the Friday and was surprised that it wasn’t actually that busy which was nice!

Let’s get into what I picked up!

BareMinerals GEN NUDE Radiant Lipstick (Tutu)

Originally I intended on picking up the ILIA Tinted Lip Conditioner but I spotted this one and when I compared the two, the shades were very similar, with the Ilia leaning slightly more pink.  This one seemed more moisturizing though so I went with it.  I’m really glad I did – it’s a great pinkish nude shade, super moisturizing and very comfortable to wear.  I’ve already worn it a dozen times and I suspect it’s going to become one of my go-to lip products.  The only drawback is because it’s so creamy I’ll likely be repurchasing this often.  I’ll likely do a full review on this with swatches because I like it so much so stay tuned for that!

Sephora Collection Sleeping Mask (Avocado)

My Mom told me how good these were and while we were in line, I snagged one to try out.  I’ve used it once and so far I’m pretty impressed.  This has a gel-like consistency and is bright green so it almost feels like you are putting slime on your face which is kind of fun actually (to be clear this isn’t sticky in this least!). 😉  In all honesty though it felt amazing going on my skin and even better the next morning – super soft, moisturized and plump.  I’m looking forward to trying out more of these!

Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer

This was something I’ve been eyeing up for a while because Allison Anderson just raves about it but I always forget to include in my shopping list.  I’ve been having the worst experience with mascaras lately – everything flakes and smudges on me like crazy!  It’s so frustrating so I’ve decided to resort to a lash primer to assist with my issues.  So far I’ve tested this out with two mascaras – it did absolutely nothing for one (but it was getting old) and the second it did seem to make a bit of a difference but didn’t eliminate the problem completely.  So far I can say I’m not really all that impressed but I think further testing is required.

Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Coco

Neither of the beachy fragrances I was considering were available in-store and I decided that’s what I wanted – something perfect for Summer (which is why I eliminated Nest Indigo).  I decided to give this perfume a try because it smelled devine in-store; exactly how it’s described – a mix of coconut and vanilla.  I still love the scent but it seems to disappear on me pretty quick which is annoying.  I’ve used this a few times and I noticed that it’s probably about 1/5 of the way gone so  I don’t expect this to last me very long. 🙁

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask

This is the travel-sized version of this conditioning mask but it’s likely going to last me a while – there’s a lot packed into this little tub and a little of this goes a long way.  Plus, I only plan on using this once a week or so.  I used up a sample of this prior to buying it and loved it – which is why I purchased a larger size.  Finally a deep conditioner that works on my fine hair!

Bite Beauty Everyday Agave Lip Mask

I ordered this online and when it arrived I was a little shocked at the size – for some reason I thought it was going to be a lot bigger?  That said, you barely need a drop of this to cover your lips – it’s super thick and emollient.  I know there’s been some complaints about the packaging and I’d have to agree that it’s not the best – it’s really hard to squeeze the product out and on to your lips – they need to redesign it.  My super dry and flaky lips are loving it though.

Buxom Full-On Lip Cream (White Russian)

Okay so I know this is somewhat of a cult product – people love this gloss.  I am a huge fan of Buxom’s glosses but I’m just kind of meh about this one – it basically just looks like a clear gloss on my lips so I don’t see myself wearing it a lot on it’s own.  I know it’s described as a Pink Nude but I was just expecting a little more of a tint to it.  It’ll work great on top of other lip products but I’m kind of wishing I had picked up Dolly or Rose Julep instead.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

So happy to have this back in my life!  This is the best liquid eyeliner I’ve ever used, hands down.  After trying out several high-end and low-end versions, I’ve decided I’m just going to stick with this one.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo

I was very curious to see how this dry shampoo would compare to my beloved Batiste; I’ve used it a few times now and I’m not 100% sure how I feel about it.  It’s powerful stuff – I don’t hate the fact that all I need is a few sprays and the oil in my hair disappears.  That said, it does seem to leave more buildup in my hair that Batiste does BUT it doesn’t feel as dry and frizzy.  Further use is required!

What I Didn’t Get

Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist

This wasn’t available in-store and I wanted to smell it before purchasing it so I passed on it.

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc All Over Body Spray

Another one not available in-store and I gave my head a shake when I realized I was contemplating a body spray that cost $82.

Juice Beauty SPF 30 Oil-Free Moisturizer

They didn’t have this in-store so I was considering the non-SPF version until I got a whiff of it – it reeks!  There’s actually quite a few comments on the Sephora website about this as well.

Buxom White Russian on the Rocks Eyeshadow

They didn’t have this in-store either but ultimately I decided I do not need another eyeshadow palette, particularly when it’s so close to one I already own.  So pretty though!

What did you pick up at the Sephora sale?

  1. What a fun haul!

The Sleeping Mask sounds like a winner.

I think I have a sample of the Briogeo somewhere, need to find it and give it a try.

I haven’t had luck with the few BareMinerals things I’ve tried, but the lipstick you got seems very nice!

Good thing you didn’t get the TF body spray. C$82?? Damn! 😀

I picked up a few things from the sale, too (the ebates sucked!!! 2.5%, jeez). Still need to post it!

    1. The Sleeping mask is SO good – the more I use it the more I love it. Highly recommended.

Definitely try the hair mask – most people who try it seem to love it. It’s good stuff!

I’ve had some hits and misses with BareMinerals too – I generally like their lipstick and eyeshadows. Face products can be meh. What didn’t work for you?

Looking forward to checking out your haul!

  2. Yeah the ebates drop down to 2.5% was so crappy. Normally it’s 4%.
Interesting that we both observed that the store wasn’t as busy. I wonder if most people are just ordering online or if they’re not shopping at all?
I didn’t know that UD made a lash primer – I hope it ends up working well for you. I use one from Etude House that costs $7 and I love it!
I picked up a sample of that Briogeo Deep Conditioning Mask – can’t wait to try it.
Yeah, that BITE Agave lip mask packaging really needs a redesign – my tube split open after a couple of uses! I had to return it.
Oooh I haven’t seen that Buxom White Russian on the Rocks Palette – so pretty! But yeah… I’ve kind of banned myself from palettes for a while until I actually open up the ones I bought!!!
Nice haul – enjoy your goodies! 🙂
stashy recently posted…Sephora VIB Sale April 2017 HaulMy Profile

    1. Oh I remember you mentioning that lash primer – that’s a much cheaper option! Where do you buy that again?

I also remember you mentioning how your lip mask tube split open – I can totally see how that could happen. Fingers crossed that mine stays intact.

No more palettes for me unless I’m in the States and can get my hands on another Lorac palette. #staystrong

  3. The Tattoo Liner is on my wishlist, that or the Clinique version. Both have really good reviews! I understand the White Russian thing. On its own, it’s nothing special but it layers well with just about everything. I often use it to lighten up a shade if it’s darker than I’m wanting. 🙂

    1. I personally prefer the KVD version over the Clinique one – both are good but I find KVD’s has a bit more staying power and the tip is a bit more resistant to damage (I’m pretty hard on eyeliners).

Okay so I’ve been playing around with White Russian and I take back my words – love it overtop a nude lipliner or lipstick. I get it now! 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading Wendy!

    1. I’ve done the same recently and realized that I’m wasting a bunch of money on mediocre liners and I should just buy this one instead – I’ll actually probably save myself money that way. Nothing compares to it!

      Thanks for reading! 🙂

  4. I found that the stores weren’t busy either! I was at Chinook on a Saturday night with a girlfriend and so we thought we might as well pop in to take a look, and it wasn’t nearly as bad as I remember it being in previous years.
I have never heard of the BareMinerals GEN NUDE Radiant Lipstick, but it sounds really promising! I’ll have to make sure to check it out next time.
Be careful with that tube packaging the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask! The biggest complaint I’ve heard that the sealed end of the tube splits on you.
I’ve never understood the hype about White Russian! It just seems like an almost-clear gloss to me? That’s a lot of money to pay for a clear gloss. Although I suppose the colour might show up on girls with a pale natural lip colour.
    Great picks!!

    1. There are so many great shades of the Gen Nude lipsticks, I want more! I’m on such a nude lip kick right now, can’t get enough!

I’ve heard that complaint about the Lip Mask and I can totally see that happening! The tube isn’t flexible enough for how thick the product is – definitely an area of improvement!

Okay so I’ve been playing around with White Russian and I love it on top of a nude lip liner. I get it now lol. That said, I’m sure you could probably get a nude lip gloss from the drugstore for cheaper and obtain the exact same look!
