It’s time again for Sephora’s Spring Sale and today I’m sharing my shopping list and my recommendations for you.
The Sale begins Tuesday for those who are VIB Rouge and they receive 15% off. VIB’s get access starting Wednesday and also receive 15% off, while Beauty Insiders get 10% off starting Thursday.
This year I’m a VIB Rouge once again so as usual I’m going to state my piece about how despite the fact that I spend 3 times the amount that VIB’s get, all they are offering me is one extra day of the sale? In my opinion they should bump the percentage up to 20%. Really what I should do is just make friends with someone who is a VIB Rouge because they can get me the 15% off on Day 1 of the sale (and a tote!) without spending what I do there in a year.
I complain yet I still continue to shop here, even despite some really bad customer service experiences so I really have no one to blame but myself. It’s a vicious circle.
Anyway, let’s get into what I’m planning on picking up. I’ve separated it out into 2 categories – those I’m getting for sure and those I’m still deciding about.
For Sure
The Clinique Pretty Easy Eyeliner that I picked up in my last Sephora haul is drying up and while that has lasted me a long time, I much prefer this one.
Buxom Full-On Lip Cream (White Russian)
I absolutely adore these glosses by Buxom; White Russian has been on my list for a long time so I think I’m finally going to get it.
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask
I recently went blonder for Spring and with that comes dryness and damage. I had a decent sized sample of this deep conditioner and I really liked it. Because my hair is fine it can be hard to source a dry conditioner that doesn’t weigh my hair down and make it greasy. This did nothing of the sort so I’m definitely going to pick this up.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo
This has been on my shopping list for ages but I’ve yet to bite the bullet. I love my Batiste but everyone raves about this so I just need to see how it compares.
Jodi from A Brash Attitude inspired me to pull out my sample of this lip treatment – I’ve had it in my stash for a while but forgot about it. I’ve wanted to try this forever but there’s been such mixed reviews on it that I’ve always backed out of buying it at the last minute. After using it for the last week I have to say I’m impressed by it – my lips have never felt better and less flaky/dry.
Still deciding
ILIA Tinted Lip Conditioner (Blossom Lady)
I saw this product in-store and I really liked the shade. It’s nothing unique – it seems like it would give my lips a pretty pink tint but that’s exactly the type of lip product I like to wear on a daily basis. I’m struggling a bit with the price tag though…
NEST Indigo / Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist / Tom Ford Soleil Blanc All Over Body Spray
I really want a new fragrance but I can’t decide what I want. I have a travel sized sample of Nest Indigo and I love it but it doesn’t seem to last all that long on me. The Brazilian Crush is about half of the cost of the Tom Ford but I like them both because I think they’d be great for summer. Decisions, decisions…
Buxom White Russian on the Rocks Eyeshadow
I don’t need another eyeshadow palette but doesn’t this one look so pretty? I already have one Buxom palette that I love and the colours aren’t that different so this could really be a very unnecessary purchase but….it’s so pretty!
First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer
A ridiculously long name for a pretty good primer! This is another one where I had a sample that I used up and I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of Too Faced’s Hangover Primer but more moisturizing. You could definitely skip moisturizer with this!
Juice Beauty SPF 30 Oil-Free Moisturizer
I’ve been using Juice Beauty’s Green Apple Age Defy Moisturizer as a night cream and my skin absolutely loves it – even if I hate the scent. I like the fact that this has SPF in it but I’ll have to see how thick this is in-store (it’s sold out online anyway).
My Recommendations for you
Buxom Customizable Eyeshadow Palette
Eyeshadow palettes can be expensive, particularly if you don’t use every shade included in them. Why not customize your own? I did a while back and I love my palette. Each shade is one that I actually use and wear and I’ve found their quality to be top notch.
L’Occitane Cleansing & Softening Shower Oil
I’ve been raving about this stuff since I tried it last year; it’s a fantastic light body wash that smells delicious and nourishes your skin. I absolutely love it to shave my legs – I no longer experience dry flaky skin because of it. Keep in mind that a little goes a long way – a full-sized bottle lasts me a good 4 months. Their travel sized bottle is a great way to test it out!
This is more than I like to spend on a lip product but I honestly feel like this was worth it. I’ve got more details on why I love it so here but all in all, I really recommend them.
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder
This is the best loose setting powder I’ve ever used – it doesn’t sink into fine lines, exaggerate my pores or make me look dry. It just leaves me with a flawless finish. Give your wallet a break and pick up the travel size – I’ve been using mine off and on for months and I still have a bunch left.
Sephora Collection Triple Action Cleansing Water
If I needed a micellar water, I’d be adding this one to my list. I love how gentle it is on my skin yet effective at removing my makeup. I’ve used it off and on for years and it’s one that I always go back to.
Origins Original Skin Retexturing Mask with Rose Clay
Lately I’ve been putting a greater emphasis on skincare and trying to utilize some of the facial masks in my collection on a daily basis. This is one of the ones I’ve been using and I think it’s excellent for those with sensitive skin. It offers a very gentle exfoliation and I find it clarifies my skin without stripping it. I’m not usually a rose scent type of person but this is really light and pleasant.
What’s on your list for the Spring Sephora Sale?

I agree with your recommendations for the Nars Velvet Lip Glide and the Laura Mercier setting powder. The Brigeo hair mask is so good but it causes my head to itch so I can only use it sparingly.

Oh that’s too bad about the hair mask – sometimes you just never know what ingredient is going to react badly with your skin!

Great picks! I love the Briogeo Hair Mask as well as the Curl Charisma creme.

Thanks! I’d love to try more of Briogeo’s products – most everyone seems to rave about them.

I would get Brazilian Crush xx

Thanks for the recommendation Cat!

I agree, VIB Rouge is a JOKE. The perks are soooo lame. We should be getting 20% off. Blegh.
I saw that ILIA is now at Sephora. I actually stopped into a Sephora store yesterday and saw they had some ILIA lipsticks. Intrigued but not enough to get one!
Ha, 2 of your recs are on my wish list – the LM powder and the Sephora cleansing water. I agree , the Buxom palette is a great buy!

Ugh I’m so torn on picking up that ILIA Lip Conditioner – the price is painful but it’s so pretty!
Have fun shopping – looking forward to seeing what you pick up!

Yes! I always thought VIB Rouge didn’t give you anywhere NEAR the perks you should be getting if you spend that much at Sephora. Lame. I’m just VIB and I’m happy enough with it.
So glad you like the FAB Coconut thing, just getting a sample of it in my sale order!

I have absolutely no motivation to make it to the Rouge tier yet somehow every year I do. I hate going to beauty counters in department stores though so aside from SDM’s limited selection of brands in-store, they’re kind of my only option.
I really liked the FAB primer – hopefully you do too!
