My Latest Obsession – Sweatshirts

What’s something you’ve been obsessing over later?  Mine is sweatshirts.  I just can’t stop wearing them or wanting more of them.   I know we’re heading into Spring & Summer but I actually consider them to be a year-round item.  They’re great anytime in the Fall & Winter months and perfect to throw over a tank or tee in the mornings and evenings during Spring & Summer.

My style has always leaned to the more casual side but lately comfort has become really key for me – I just don’t have the patience to suffer through a day in uncomfortable clothing.  I still love getting dressed up and putting on a dress or a fancy top and heels but for everyday you’ll find me in leggings and/or jeans with a tee/tank and ideally, a sweatshirt.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to sweatshirts – I say no to ones that are thick or bulky. They also need to have some shape but I don’t want them skintight.  I also like them to be a bit longer in length so I can pair them with leggings.  I’m not opposed to plain ones but I think having some kind of design or quote on them is kind of fun and trendy right now.  With that said, here’s a collection of ones that I’m lusting over right now:

Top Row (Left – Right)

I <3 My Dog
I’ve admired Wildfox sweatshirts in store (at Nordstrom & Saks on 5th) but I never saw one with a quote on it that I liked.  I NEED this one and I will pay that ridiculous price tag for it too!

Lou & Grey

Last year when I was in the US I tried on one of these at Loft but couldn’t bring myself to splurge on it (it wasn’t on sale and the exchange rate physically hurts).  I totally regret it because it was one of the softest, comfiest things I’ve ever worn.  Plus we don’t have Loft here so I’m really missing out.

Tie Front

I love the tie front detail on this one – so cute!

Off the Shoulder

I resisted the off-the-shoulder style for a long time but given that it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere I might as well enjoy it.  Love this look with denim shorts!

Bottom Row (Left – Right)

Minnie

The David Lerner sweatshirt that I picked up late last year is 100% to blame for my obsession.  I have one very similar to this with Mickie on it and I LOVE it, I wear it so much I’m afraid of wearing it out.  I’m so tempted to order myself another one off of their website, even if with shipping, exchange and duty it’ll likely cost me double the price.

French Terry

These ones already have that washed and lived in look to them which makes them extra cozy.  Plus, Gap literally has 40% off every week so that makes the price extremely reasonable!

Salt & Pepper

Last weekend I stopped in at Roots and I was surprised that there were a quite of few things I wanted – that hasn’t happened for a while.  This sweatshirt was one of them – it’s on the pricier side but I find their stuff so well-made you know it’ll last you for years.

Anchored

If you want an even cheaper option than the Gap one, I’d recommend this.  I’ve tried these on in store and they are nice – but at the time they weren’t on sale and I’ve learned to not buy things that aren’t from Old Navy (just wait a week – it will be).  I found them a little short to pair with leggings but they’d work great with jeans or shorts.

WTF

As I was browsing online, I came across a couple that literally made me say “WTF” and giggle, so I had to share them with you.  Who wears these?

I like Rhianna but what is this? It is a steal at only $225 though!

I like my sweatshirts oversized but this is a bit ridiculous….

I’m obsessed with sweatshirts at the moment too! I laughed so much at the WTF section and your comments… You know when you just see something and it’s guaranteed to be in the sale because who the hell is buying it?! Yep I felt that with those finds! Great post 🙂 xxx

I’m glad you laughed too – I’m no fashionista by any means but I’d love to see someone actually wear those things – they’re so odd!

Thank you for stopping by! 🙂

$224 is definitely a steal, lol. And the last one-yikes! It maybe might work if it was more tucked in and smaller. Not sure how you would move with that.

It seems to be the theme at Zara – everything is extremely oversized. It’s ridiculous.

      Thanks for reading! 🙂
