This & That Saturdays – November 26

Can someone please explain to me how it is already the end of November?  We are officially less than a month away from Christmas and I can’t handle it – it’s coming way too fast!

what’s going on with me

School, school and more school – but it’s nearing it’s end!

Did you engage in some Black Friday Shopping?  I ventured out and it definitely wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be – way more tolerable than Boxing Day for sure!  I got some of my Christmas shopping done and too much a few things for myself too from Sephora, Old Navy and Express.

have you seen/tried/heard?

I’m not a Metallica fan but this was so awesome!  I wonder how many takes it took them?

Red wine hot chocolate?  I don’t know how I feel about this but I’m willing to give a try!

This is the saddest, yet amazing, yet hilarious, yet heart-warming, yet cutest thing I’ve ever read/seen. #iwantagoat #youwantonetoo #goatsareawesome

recent purchases

Have you tried out Old Navy’s Rockstar Jeans?  I thought I’d give them a try – they were 50% off and cost me $25 so what is there to lose really?  I ended up with a pair of distressed mid-rise although I much prefer the low-rise, but there were literally none of those left in-store.

I picked up this little guy to top my pencil tree in our living room.  He’s so cute!  I have a full-sized one that sits on my dining room table too so he fits in well. All I need is the medium sized one to complete my owl family!

I’ve heard that Essence’s Make Me Brow is dupe for Benefit’s Give Me Brow; TBH I’m tired of filling my brows in with a pencil and then using brow gel to set them and I’m on the search for something simpler.  We’ll see how this performs.

I’ve been on the hunt to find the perfect leggings for…years.  I’ve tried Hue (super soft and comfy but faded badly after washing), Costco (too high-waisted), Joe Fresh (thin and stretched out), Ricki’s (comfy but holes in them after about a month of wear) and now I’m trying the Express version.  I own a printed pair of their’s but they don’t get a ton of wear (given the print) so I’m interested in seeing how the black ones fare.  Tell me – where are your fave leggings from?

currently coveting

Ricki’s has some absolutely adorable sweaters in this year – LOVE this one!

Have I mentioned before how much I love dips?  I think I’m going to give this one a try for Christmas this year! #bacon

Love this Bench Jacket too!

Did you know that The Bay is now carrying Sigma Beauty?  I came across their display in-store yesterday, but they are also available online.  I’m lusting after their flat kabuki brush.

I’ve seen these palettes in-store and wondered if they’re any good – according to Jamie they’re well worth the $5.

Need to catch up on my posts?  Here’s what I’ve been up to the last few weeks:

What’s coming up on my blog:

  • My Christmas Wish List: Find out what I’m hoping for this Christmas!
  • Beauty Trash: Um I may have taken pictures for this post two months ago and my tote is filled up again so I should get this up before I need to do another one
  • Sephora Black Friday & VIB Sale Haul: Figured I might as well combine the two into one post!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Leggings are impossible. I have yet to find a pair that don’t cost a million dollars that I love. The pink sweater with the deer and that sweet little owl are so freaking cute!

Oooh, which location of The Bay was carrying Sigma Beauty? I hate how all of The Bays here have a different selection.
Oh my gosh, I love that fawn sweater! So cute.
My favourite leggings are from Aritzia. I bought them like 7 years ago, and I still wear them. I remember thinking at the time that the price was expensive for leggings, but considering I’ve owned them for 7 years, it was worth it. It’s been so long so I don’t know if they carry the same ones anymore (I’ve boycotted Aritzia and don’t shop there anymore haha), but it’s worth it to take a look.

Market Mall had Sigma – it was a small selection though. And they weren’t cheap!

I’ve never bought anything from Aritzia but 7 years for a pair of leggings is REALLY impressive. I might have to check that out. But I want to know why you’re boycotting them first! 😉

Yeah I’ve seen that Hudson’s Bay carries Sigma brushes – the one in Toronto has had it for more than a year now. I’m not convinced they’re worth the money… will need to try a brush to determine that though! 😛
LMAO, you and your goat fetish! It’s so funny.
I have a pair of leggings from Tristan that I like a lot – maybe try there?

Hmmm Tristian – I never would have thought to look there! Thanks for the recommendation!

I can’t believe how expensive the Sigma brushes are – I had no idea they were that pricey. They seem really soft though…
