This & That Saturdays – November 12

What a week!  I don’t want to chat too much about the election on here but were you shocked with the results?  I kind of was and I kind of wasn’t; about a month ago I remember reading this guy’s prediction of who would win – he’s called the election results correctly for the last 30 years and never been wrong….so there was that.  I think the next few months (and 4 years) are definitely going to be “interesting”!  Is it wrong that as a Canadian I know more about American politics than I do my own?

what’s going on with me

School has been kicking my butt the last week and a bit and my blogging has suffered as a result.  I had hoped to get some posts up earlier this week but getting my assignments completed took priority.  Thankfully I have the weekend off from school (yay!) and I hope to use the time to try and catch up a bit – however for the next two months you can expect my blogging schedule to be all over the place.

have you seen/tried/heard?

Have you ever used Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) as a hair rinse?  It’s my new favourite thing!  I fill up a squeeze bottle with 2 tablespoons of ACV and 2 tablespoons of water and rinse it through my hair after shampooing (I skip conditioner).  I can’t believe how soft my hair feels afterwards and it detangles it better than any conditioner I’ve ever used!  Read more about it’s benefits here.

Baby Elephants!

What is it about the Bieb’s music that sucks you in?  I don’t even like the guy but I know the words to almost all of his songs and I can’t seem to tire of this song.

recent purchases

Gap Utility Jacket: I finally found myself a utility jacket!  I spent last weekend scouring the mall for one and landed on this one; it’s been so perfect for this amazing weather we’ve been having (19 degrees here today!)  And I got it for 50% off2

Dessange Paris Purifying Clay Pre-Shampoo Mask: I found this on a clearance shelf at Shopper’s Drug Mart and I’ve used it twice already; I do find that my hair is less oily on Days 2 and 3 after shampooing so it obviously works!  The only thing is I’m not fond of the smell – it does smell quite strongly of clay.

Old Navy Boyfriend Drapey Tee: I picked one of these tees up for $5 and it’s potentially the best five bucks I’ve ever spent.  The fabric is super soft and and it looks really cute with jeans or leggings.

currently coveting

I pulled out my Buxom Full-On Lipstick in Brooklyn today and I forgot how much I like it – I wish I had picked up one or two at the Sephora sale last weekend.  They’re really comfortable with great pigmentation and I just really like the retractable pencil format.

This would be such a cute holiday party dress!

This is the best Christmas decoration ever!  #santaaaaaaaaa

favourite youtube video of the week

Tati – World’s Most Painful Mask

This is from a few weeks ago but apparently I’m a bad person because watching this cracked me up  – I swear I saw that mask at my local Winners back in the Summer!

Need to catch up on my posts?  Here’s what I’ve been up to the last few weeks:

What’s coming up on my blog:

  • Summer Road Trip (California Part 2): A review of our travels to and through Monterey, Big Sur, Paso Robles, and Huntington Beach – this should be up tomorrow.
  • Love with Food – October Box Review: Was my October box as big of a hit as the September box?  Stay tuned!
  • My Christmas Wish List: Find out what I’m hoping for this Christmas!
  • Sephora VIB Sale Haul & Reviews: I’m still waiting for my purchases to arrive – I ordered most of them online.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Eee I really like that ON tee! Gotta keep an eye out for that and the clearance Dessange at SDM 😀

And yeah, I don’t even want to think about the election, anymore. Ugh.

Seriously I’ve washed that ON tee like 5 times already and it still looks like new! Sometimes ON just surprises the heck out of me. I’m going back for more!

      Thanks for reading! 🙂

I watched that Tati video too and omg that DID look super painful! But I read in the comments that it’s not meant for your WHOLE FACE. It’s means for the nose area, or the chin – kind of like those Biore nose strips. Can you imagine slapping Biore nose strips all over your face? LMAO.

Now I suddenly want a Buddy the elf inflatable doll… to help me get over the American election result. I think that’ll help, surely.
